Charlie began riding at the young age of five with the encouragement of his mother. Never having had formal lessons and rarely a saddle, he mostly learned to ride on his own. Growing up, he spent most days exploring the woods and backroads on horseback where he found his peace.
After spending 20 years in law enforcement as a Special Agent and Operator both here at home and abroad, he retired to spend more time with family and to explore an old passion once again.
Charlie purchased property in Ft. White, Florida and Old Wire Stables opened in 2016, first as a boarding facility. Not long after, an old school cowgirl came to board her two horses with Old Wire Stables and Charlie was fortunate to find a mentor and trainer in Miss Debbie Jacobsen. Under Miss Debbie's guidance and tutelage he began learning how to train horses and impart that knowledge onto others. It didn't take long for Old Wire Stables to morph into the equestrian business it is today offering horse boarding, lessons, horse training, breeding and the occasional horse sale.
Charlie now spends his days working with horses and students enjoying the best job and environment he could ask for. He is blessed having his two daughters by his side as well as a wonderful extended family and team here at Old Wire Stables. He invites you to come out and experience a little piece of Heaven on Earth and have a good time.
